Suzuki teaching in Stuttgart
Learn to play the piano from the age of 3! It is possible with the Suzuki method!
EVERY CHILD CAN !
The Suzuki pedagogy is based on the idea that every child has potential « talent » from birth. The child absorbs everything that surrounds him and learns thanks to the stimulations induced by his environment Very early on, he acquired a great ability to memorize and easily reproduce what he heard.
Learning to play the piano with the Suzuki method is more than just music! You learn through the Mother Tongue approach, by playing and having fun. Children – from the age of 3 – develop, among other things, listening skills, memory, musical sense, concentration, discipline and respect.
The group workshops stimulate learning, and the children learn to play together. The Suzuki Triangle, teacher-parent-student, strengthens the parent-child bond. Parents learn with their child and participate in the lessons. Music theory is included in the lessons in a fun way.
The Suzuki Method stems from his belief that musical ability is not innate, it is a skill that every child can develop with careful nurturing and training. Suzuki observed that young children learn to speak their native language through listening, imitation and repetition, and they can master a musical Instrument by following this same approach. Using what Suzuki termed – the Mother Tongue Method – children absorb musical language by listening to music even before beginning
instruction. Then, developing good posture, tone and intonation, they learn to read music once they learn have reached a certain skill level.

Traditional teaching method
Training of notes, theory and rythm
My teaching method is based on the requirement that the pupil enjoys their lessons and learns to love and appreciate music. Learning demands effort, discipline and concentration and I always treat students sympathetically whilst conveying my passion for the instrument.
The more I advance with the student, the more I understand what they like, their motivation, and how they can evolve further.
Piano methods
During my 25 years of experience I have deepened my pedagogy. I work nowadays more interactively with rhythm and counting exercises, musical games, Youtube videos to help with pitch and rhythm. During these current months (since face-to-face teaching has not been possible) I have been employing these methods over zoom.
For me, to teach music is to stimulate desire to learn and joy in taking part in a great musical adventure.
Contemporary music
To every student I communicate my enthusiasm for all styles of music – classical, jazz, pop, 20-21st century contemporary. I encourage them to play together – duets, 6 hands, even 8 hands at one piano.

I also studied at the conservatories of Rueil, Boulogne and the CRR Saint Maur. I obtained a Bronze medal, a Medal Vermeille in chamber music and a Gold medal in sight-reading.
During this time I studied with:
- Madame Devos
- Madame Balbi
- Noël Moralès
- Geneviève Ibanez
As well as courses with :
- Irakly Avaliani
- Tamara Koloss
- Dominique Merlet
I have also completed a Licence in Musicology at the University of Paris VIII and participated in the contemporary music and pedagogy seminars ‘Musica Temporalia’ organised in the Les Lilas conservatory by Martine Joste.
I have given solo concerts and with my husband concerts of solo pieces and music for 4-hands in France, Germany and London.
In 2021, I have obtained my first certificate of the Suzuki method (200h training) and I am continuing my training for level 2 and 3.

Testimonies
« My 3 years studying Piano with Myriam were a wonderful experience. Under her teaching I made great progress and Myriam extended my musical repertoire in all directions, covering both classical and contemporary repertoire and extending also to popular music. She is a teacher who invests herself in her pupils, who promotes a deep and rigorous approach to the works studied allowing one to better learn, listen to and appreciate the music. I personally advanced a lot in my interpretation of the pieces I learnt and I still enjoy playing the pieces I have studied with her! »

« I began studying the piano with Myriam at the age of 5. Her teaching enabled me to develop both my technique and emotional understanding. Through that I was able to enter special music classes at the Versailles Conservatoire. During this time Myriam continued to supervise me which was a great help. Thanks to my work with her I had many opportunities such as playing in concerts. With her I learnt a great variety of repertoire – Baroque, Romantic and 20th century, 4 hands and 6 hands pieces, which is quite an achievement! »

« My name is Corentin, I began the piano at age 6 with Myriam. She was my teacher for 5 years. I learnt all the basics of the piano with her. Although I decided later to stop my study of solfège she continued to teach me in this as she considered it was very important.
Myriam is very attentive, she explains everything clearly. She taught me to love the piano even though at the beginning I didn’t want to learn it. She taught me how to make a more harmonious sound. I was sorry when she moved away. Thank you Myriam! »

« An excellent pianist who can communicate such emotions in a piece that few people are capable of, Myriam also communicated to me her love for the piano. From my earliest beginnings to today I owe to her everything I know about the piano, and the great progress and discoveries I made. During 10 years, she took me on a wonderful pianistic and personal journey through study, concerts, rehearsals and exams in which I participated joyfully and enjoyed success. Still today her methods continue to help me progress. Iwill never forget this teacher, thank you again for everything! »

« I began studying the piano with Myriam when I moved to France at the age of 10, after 4 years of lessons abroad. With Myriam I worked principally on two things: technique and interpretation. Working precisely, with metronome, on scales and Czerny studies (which I did not particularly enjoy) I improved my technique. After some years I learnt to refine my musical interpretation, discovering the wide field of possibilities which music has to offer.
Myriamʼs demanding approach prepared me to pass my end of year exams and to succeed in two piano competitions. Most important for me was the passion for music (particularly the piano) which I developed during this time, while discovering the richness of the instrument and its repertoire. »

« Myriam was my teacher for more than 10 years and was an excellent teacher both pedagogically and personally. I started learning the piano when I was 7 years old and I was not the most assiduous student but Myriam was always patient and encouraging. In addition to providing her students with an efficient working method and a particularly solid technical training, Myriam provides the keys to develop a musical sensitivity and knows how to communicate her passion. I will thus keep very good memories of my piano lessons but also of the atmosphere between the students. Myriam gave us as students pieces for 4, sometimes 6 hands to play, which we would perform at auditions and end-of-year shows, in this way we formed lasting connections between us. My best memories are surely the preparations for the end of year shows and the rehearsals where we would work as a group with Myriam. »

« My two daughters, ages 4 and 7, began lessons with Myriam about 8 months ago via Zoom and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they have progressed. Myriam uses a variety of methods and techniques to teach children in a way that keeps them engaged and having fun while learning. This has allowed us to try different techniques that work best for my girls. Myriam encourages my girls to appreciate a variety of music by introducing them to musical genres and instruments from around the world. The method, theory and technical books Myriam uses are easy enough for those who know nothing about music to quickly and progressively learn from the very basics on up. She provides enough material for my girls to work on over the week to keep them focused and moving forward in their learning. With Myriam’s patience and teaching methods, I cannot wait to see how much my children will learn under her! «

« My 10 year old daughter has participated in Myriam’s piano classes for nearly one year and we are very pleased with the results. Myriam thought outside of the box at the onset of the CORONA pandemic and was quick to adapt and offer virtual classes which provided flexibility to the student. She is patient and understands the needs of her students. Myriam is an excellent pianist and very encouraging for children. My daughter’s technical skills have progressed tremendously over the last year and we look forward to watching her progress. Myriam’s classes are challenging, rewarding and keep kids motivated to learn more. »

« Myriam is very flexible and was able to teach piano remotely to my 9 year old daughter through the web.
She is very experienced in teaching piano to children and knows a lot of relevant piano methods.
I particularly appreciated that she motivated my daughter to compose her own music and that she regularly shares customized musical accompaniment »
